A whole host of Chelsea players were on international duty during the EURO 2020, and only returned to the camp this week. Despite that, Thomas Tuchel is expected to field a lot of first team players for this fixture.

Following this game, which will be played on Saturday, Chelsea will travel to Ireland for a pre-season tour. It is expected that they will play one of the local sides, though nothing yet is confirmed. After returning from Ireland, Chelsea will travel to Bournemouth for another pre-season friendly.

Chelsea round off their pre-season against their North London rivals, Arsenal and Spurs. The three London clubs are participating in Mind Series, a competition organized to support better mental health. The matches will raise funds for Mind, UK’s leading mental health charity. With restrictions lifted, Chelsea’s trip to Arsenal and the home game against Spurs will have full crowd capacity.

Chelsea’s season begins on 11th August in the UEFA Super Cup match against UEFA Europa League winners Villarreal.
